Kel
I lost my main hard drive yesterday... I re-installed windows 7 on a new harddrive and wanted to restore some folders and files from my retrospect back up set. All my backup sets were created with Retrospect 7.7 I do not have a local copy of the back up set so I re-installed retrospect 7.7 and selected the backup set catalog file on my NAS....I was using the restore wizard - I selected that last backup set snapshot to restore. I created a destination folder and selected it and then selected the key folders I wanted to restore. I ran the restore but only the folders were recreated and not the files.... What am I doing wrong or how can i restore the folders with complete contents. Thanks in advance, Ed
Kel
UPDATE: I was able to resolve the problem - I think the issue was due to two things - 1) I had not yet updated windows 7 to sp1 and 2) I also ran a verify media on my catalog file (not sure that was the right thing to do) - i didn't allow the verify media operation to complete because it would have taken hours - I let it run and it went through a number of snapshots with no errors - but after that was done I was able to restore things as desired.I also contacted Retrospect support and they recommended I repair the catalog file.
