retrospect 6 + HP SureStore 818 and Backup Server Scripts

I'm running Retrospect 6 with an HP SureStore 818 DLT Autoloader and trying to use backup scripts, however it will only sit there and cycle back and forth between a blank status and media status for the first client on the backup list. I checked and none of the backup sets have a media status indicating they need a new tape, but even with retrospect 5 it would automatically snag a new tape if it needed it. Anyone have any ideas?
