yespress Posted May 31, 2012 Report Share Posted May 31, 2012 We do a backup every night and we back up a lot of files on several servers (about 100 gb). We are using EMC2 Retrospect, Version 7.6.123 on WindowsXP with a sony StorStation AIT-4 drive. On average the speed has been 133 MB/minute, which takes between 11-12.5 hours. Then it will suddenly start backing up at an average speed of approx. 950 MB/minute, which takes just under 2 hours. This usually lasts about 6 or 7 days before it goes back to 133 MB/minute.
