Error -1017 duplicating folder to external USB

I'm getting an -1017 error (can't write; insufficient permissions) when I run a duplicating script (duplicating a folder from our Windows 2008 Server SP1 to a Western Digital USB external hard drive hanging off a Windows 7 Pro computer). I'm using Retrospect 7.7.562 running on a Windows 2003 Server SP2.

 

This script had been running fine when the WD USB external hard drive was hanging off a Windows XP computer. Now I moved the WD drive to a new Win7 computer and the script won't run. (Of course, I defined the new location in Retrospect, and it found it just fine.)

 

I even tried creating a new folder on the root directory of the WD drive to back up, in case the old folder structure had different permissions.

 

On our Windows 2008 server I have version 7.7.106 of the Retrospect client installed. I also installed the client on the Windows 7 computer, though I'm not sure I really needed to since I'm not backing up anything on that computer.

 

When I run the script, it checks the files on the Win 2008 server, it even compares to what's on the WD drive. It appears to start duplicating, but after about a dozen files it gives up. See log:
