I have noticed the retrospect service also restarts from time to time. Has anyone else had this problem. I will try to post as much information as possible but if more is needed let me know.

- First I am using a mac mini as the server

specs are:

Processor 2GHz intel Core 2 Duo

Operating system Mac OS X 10.5.8

Memory 4GB

Are you also running Time Machine? That is known to have incompatibilities with Retro 8.x (not sure about Retro 9.x).

If you recently bought 8.2, you should qualify for a free upgrade to 9 and could try that to see if it resolves that problem.

Otherwise, I might suggest leaving the console open and seeing if you can identify what actions occurred just prior to the crashes and see if it's something you can reproduce.

The Backups are going to an external dive VIA firewire.
