sklarcpa Posted September 10, 2006 Report Share Posted September 10, 2006 I have been getting an insufficient permissions error when trying to use open file backup ever since the end of June. My event viewer is reporting VSS errors. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Retrospect but it does not solve the problem. Any advice on how to handle this? michaeln Posted September 11, 2006 Report Share Posted September 11, 2006 Hi, Because Retrospect relies on Microsoft's VSS for open file backup, the only way to fix open file is to fix the VSS errors in Windows. You can usually find fixes for these in Microsoft's KB: http://support.microsoft.com If the event viewer is reporting these errors and you know the event id for these VSS errors, I have found http://www.eventid.net to be very helpful in fixing these types of issues.
