Won't boot from disater cd

I was having problems with my computer not starting and randomly restarting. As one of the last resort troubleshooting steps I wiped the drvie and did a fresh install of WINme. That ruled out any third party conflicts but did not fix the problem. There was some info I wanted to retrieve before taking the box in for service. To restore the system I tried to use my latest recovery CD. On restart the cd is not recognized. It looks at the cd and then just blows right past it. I know that the system wiil boot from cd. Doesn't work in either cd-rw. The image is there but won't boot.

 

 

 

Now I'm up the proverbial creek because I can't find my backup copy of RE and I have no way to get it as any copy is on RE backup sets.

 

 

 

Is there any way to extract a file from a backup set? If not I try will my last Ghost image.

 

 

 

This may not be the place to ask, but is it possible to download another copy using your license? I'm sure I'm not first and wont be the last idiot that doesn't have a backup copy.
