Toranaga1866
What is the maxum number of simultaneous backups/processes you can perform with retrospect? I installed the Retrospect on an old machine and it appeared to allow 4 processes at any given time. Whereas when I installed it on a newer machine it seemed to be capable of 8 simultaneous processes!?! Was I simply hallucinating or is it possible to perform 8 actions at the same time? waltr
hi Tor, you don't mention a specific version so i'll go with 7.5. here is a link to the manual: http://kb.dantz.com/article.asp?article=8333&p=2 check out page 14 for RAM requirements for multiple executions. 8 is the maximum. each execution requires both different source and destination. cheers. Toranaga1866
could each of the backups be targeting different drives within a Raid 5 system? assuming each drive within the Raid was setup to have its own partition?
waltr
hi tor, i believe that is true. in fact, i think you could put all 8 Disk Backup Sets on a single drive and run concurrent backups (as long as each Source is different). cheers.
