Toranaga1866
I have a Raid 5 with 5 usable 500GB drives and am trying to figure out how it should be partitioned. I thought I read that when you want to run multiple backups to the same drive you had to have each running backup targeting a different partion. Is this true? In which case I believe I would want to configure 5 partitions? 1 for anything the raid drive has to do, and 1 for each possible backup process? Thank you in advance for any insight in my present dillema.
gvanden
I have four disk backup sets on a RAID 5 with one partition, and I have scripts that back up to them simultaneously. The sources of each backup are different. I've not noticed any performance problems. I'm using Retrospect MultiServer 7.5.285, though I did this as far back as 6.5. Toranaga1866
Thanks for the post Guy! I'll be running Retrospect MultiServer 7.5 so I assume it will work the same yours. It should spare me a lot of grief not to have to configure a bunch of different partitions on my Raid drive. Thanks Again!
