Retrospect Express not starting automatically

I am running RE Ver 6.5.342 on Windows XP 5.1 SP 2. I have duplicate backups scheduled each day at 1:00AM, but these do not start until someone logs on in the morning... then it starts and completes OK (with the occasional error). I have checked the status and it shows scheduled jobs in queue OK and the "Don't allow..." box is unchecked. It does not matter who activates the PC in the morning or whether the user has programs running. The PC is set to power saver mode -- could this be the problem?
