Gunpowder Posted June 22, 2006 Report Share Posted June 22, 2006 When having a complete harddrive failure and restoring your data to a new HD does the Windows XP need to match the configuration of the XP on the backup drive. My question really is if my old drive (and the backup) had Pack 1 & 2, does pack 1 & 2 need to be installed on the new HD before restoring your data?
