lawrence
Hi, Since Retrospect Express is a restricted form of Retrospect Workgroup, would it be correct to assume that a drive that's qualified for Express is also qualified for Workgroup? I'd like to recommend a CD-R drive to a client (low incremental backup volume), but want to be sure the drive would work with their setup (Retrospect Workgroup for PC). Thanks, Lawrence
AmyJ
Drives qualified for use with Workgroup are not automatically qualified for use with Express. The Express edition only supports hard drives, removable drives, CD burners and low-end tape drives. The Workgroup edition supports all qualified tape drives and autoloaders, in addition to the drives qualified by the Express edition. That being said, if a CD burner has been qualified by Dantz, it will work with all editions (Express, Desktop, Workgroup, Server). The hardware search engine gives information regarding the minimum edition of Retrospect required to use any qualified drive. www.dantz.com/hardware
lawrence
Thanks for your reply, AmyC. It's nice to know that there's full (backward) compatibility going up the chain from Express to Server (Express, Desktop, Workgroup, Server).
