Retrospect Client running on OS X 10.1.4

So why does the process retropds.2 need to take 28-48 percent of

my CPU time? Even when there is no backup running?

(It used to be that pitond was a hog, and I would have to kill it.)

I don't think retropds.2 runs unless pitond is being used by Retrospect on another network machine. When I look, retropds.2 starts up when scanning starts, and goes away when scanning stops.

If you open a top session _and_ open the Retrospect Client application, what do you see in the Status window when retropds.2 is a running process?
