Guest Posted September 17, 2005 Report Share Posted September 17, 2005 I have a brandnew LG 5160 DVD writer attached via USB-2 (alternatively via Firewire) to my Win XP machine. When trying to create a backup with Retrospect 7.0 (lateset version) and writing to DVDs on this writer, I see the DVD-writer in the list of devices, yet, it would not let me write to it as it rejects all media I use (DVD-R, DVD+R, CD-ROM). I already tried to do a manual configuration of the drive. It asks me for fresh media a couple of times and tells me in the end that adding this drive to the list of supported drives failed.
