bsteyn Posted July 19, 2005 Report Share Posted July 19, 2005 Hi This is a really simple question. I am running Retrospect 5.6 Server on a Windows 2000 server. Am using an Ultrium 1-SCSI LTO tape drive. I have started getting errors saying the heads are dirty and need cleaning. I cannot for the life of me work out how to clean the device. Do I just put a cleaning tape in and it does it or do I need to somehow run a cleaning command while the tape is in the drive? Have got the same problem with a DDS tape library. I have allocated one of the slots as the cleaning slot and put a cleaning tape in there, but this does not seem to do much either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
