IBM Ultrium 3584

Recommended Posts

We are using a Fiberchannel IBM Ultrium 3584 (LTO2) with currently 2 drives. I had a previous post regarding trouble about how to get this device to work properly, which turned out that it was necessary to create logical libraries assignend to each drive. The post is in the Server forum. I used drive 1 even under Version 6.5 without trouble, and also Version 7. However, the 2nd drive is occasionally giving me the issues below.

Forgot to mention this is Retrospect 7.0.265 running under Win2K server. Emulex LP9002 FiberChannel 3.90a7

The devices are:

9:2:0 IBM ULT3580-TD2 3AP0 IBM Ultrium 2 DC (1.41)

9:2:1 IBM 03584L32 3480 IBM 3584 Library (1.07)

BTW: the SCSI id's do not reflect the real Scsi id of the device, as seen by the Emulex controller, which is ID 1 LUN 0 for the drive and LUN 1 for the library.
