andrewB Posted May 7, 2002 Report Share Posted May 7, 2002 Does anybody know if I setup an automated recurring backup with Retrospect and use a CDRW as the media, will it automatically erase the CDRW before backing up to this media ? AmyJ Posted May 13, 2002 Report Share Posted May 13, 2002 Yes, this is called a Recycle Backup. Retrospect will erase the media before each use. In order for Retrospect to automatically erase the media, you must insert the first member of the set you are recycling. Retrospect will not erase just any piece of media. For example, if you are recycling Backup Set A, you must insert the first disc in your set (1-Backup Set A) for the recycle to run. You can also use new, blank media for a Recycle Backup, but this is only recommended if the original discs are missing, defective, or you no longer wish to use them for backup.
