jgolden Posted April 22, 2005 Report Share Posted April 22, 2005 My intent in using the 250GB maxtor one touch was to back up both a PC and a Mac to the same drive (also to use the drive for other storage) How do I format the drive to do this and which platform do I do it on? Hanz Posted April 22, 2005 Report Share Posted April 22, 2005 Hi, For more security, you should have your hard drive on HFS+ if you're on Mac side and on NTFS if you're on windows side, presumably you have retrospect express, this edition can't be used on more than one computer.If you want absolutely to use that hard drive with both computers, you'd have to forget about the backup software and just use the copy and paste function.
