jlcooper
Help. I am using Retrospect on a Maxtor OneTouch hardware. 200 GB external. I only have a total of 11 GB on the drive that I am backing up, and yet the Maxtor drive is now showing as full. (I have been using the drive since August 04 on a regular basis and there is only one Backup Set). Retrospect file compression is "on", and both drives (Maxtor and the local hard drive) are using NTFS. Cannot figure out how the Backup Set is so large if the local drive only has 11GB of data?? I thought that only changed files were saved with each backup. Any thoughts and/or suggestions would be much appreciated.
dld
What version of Retrospect are you using? If you have been doing incremental backups since August 4, and have never done a recycle backup, then it's not surprising that your Backup Set is very large. When you run a backup, click on the Options tab. There you can choose to do a normal backup or a recycle backup.
