kneeboneATdls
I have updated the Retrospect driver (6.5), tried the recommended fixes in the Dantz KB, reinstalled the client, gave ot Administrator level access, etc... Retrospect reads the SQL portion just fine on the server and sees all the dbs. Here is the error log from the history: - 4/21/2005 3:31:26 AM: Copying sitedb on Kishington T-43: (3,013) - Backup or restore operation terminating abnormally. Trouble reading files, error -1004 (Database Backup/Restore error) 4/21/2005 3:31:42 AM: Execution incomplete Remaining: 1 files, 2,048 KB Completed: 0 files, zero KB, with 0% compression Performance: 0.0 MB/minute Duration: 00:00:16 (00:00:04 idle/loading/preparing)
AmyJ
Have you taken a look at the SQL logs or the Windows Event Logs on that client? Is there any additional information as to why the backup is failing? Is this something that used to work and is now failing? If so, has anything changed in the configuration recently? What version of SQL? What version of Windows?
kneeboneATdls
Figured out what the problem was. The previous administrator of that box changed the rights to the retrospect backup username we had set. Reviewing the Event Logs showed where the error was. Instead of asking him to double check everything I went in and checked it out this morning before he came in. Thanks for jolting my thought processes AmyJ
