Tresy
I am trying to add a Windows laptop to my Retro 6.0 backup. I have 2 license codes. Retro does not see any Windows clients in the Network configuration window, yet when I click Test the IP address of the Windows client returns the correct information about the client PC. Why then does it not see it? Theories: License codes are not platform agnostic?--these were obtained back when I wasn't even thinking about Windows The laptop is wireless. I've had wireless issues in the past with Retrospect. But Test sees the laptop THere's a firewall issue. When I installed Client on the laptop, a message said that it had configured Windows Firewall to allow communication. I'm out of ideas. Can anyone help? Tresy
Added Port 497 to Windows Firewall and now Retro is happy. The earlier installation message was either inaccurate or I misread it, because as I read it, the firewall had been configured automatically. Not so. I love it when problems fix themselves.
