janwillem
Hai Forumreaders, The hardware setup is; OSX G5 Server with Retrospect "SERVER" ver. 6.0.193. (upgraded from 5.0). The client i want to add is; Windows XP Pro SP1 with Retrospect Client Software version 6.5.132. I've tested the backup client in an earlier (stage last week; see LOGFILE) and after installing additional software can't add the client to my daily backup anymore!? LOGFILE; -12/9/2004 12:07:18 AM: Copying CASH (E:) on jona… 12/9/2004 12:07:18 AM: Connected to jona 12/9/2004 12:07:38 AM: Execution completed successfully. Completed: 68 files, 22.6 MB Performance: 75.2 MB/minute Duration: 00:00:20 (00:00:02 idle/loading/preparing) Although the client is still broadcasted and responding in the "Configure" tab i've got a problem adding this network client and get an error in the third tab (menu) "Volumes"; "Network communication failed". The "test client" also found this client after login with password; by Adress, Name, and Version. I have deactivated the firewall on the XP client but it don't solves this problem. An other UTP cable solves nothing. Can anybody give me a clue? Thanks in advantage! Jan-Willem Alex Studio Service The Netherlands
janwillem
Finally it works! On the Xp client a "SYSTEM" user must be added by share and security. In the tab; "Safety" (with all privileges turned on). Now the (NTFS) partitions and subvolumes are accessable and visible by adding. Let's wait for the report... Merry Christmas. Jan Willem.
