johnwmreed
I have created a backup set to be stored on my NAS drive. I have named the backup set: "BACKUP SET HP" and a script: HD BACKUP TO WD." I started off with a manual backup ("Backup now with these settings"). This worked fine. Then I tried to do automatic backups with a schedule. This fails because Retrospect is looking for the backup set BACKUP SET HP [001]. In fact, it created this backup set which is empty, along with a new catalog file, BACKUP SET HP [001].rbc in the same directory as the original catalog file BACKUP SET HP.rbc. No backup occurs because Retrospect can't find the backup set. It doesn't get created. I can then run another manual backup which works fine. Why won't the scheduled backup process work, and why is Retrospect trying to set up a [001] backup set?
twickland
It would appear that Retrospect is attempting to perform a New Media backup. Check the backup schedule in your script and make sure that the action you have selected is "Normal backup."
