today
I've reported this as a bug in the past, but have gotten no resolution. It has happened in 5.0, 5.15, 5.5, and 5.6. When a Macintosh client (OS9) pops up a yellow post-it like note saying something is done (like indexing service has completed), the Mac Retrospect client is incapable of proceeding. That's okay - I understand that multitasking on the Mac sucks. The problem is that the Retrospect SERVER (a separate Windows machine) hangs on this machine as well. It will hang all weekend until someone comes in on Monday, clicks away the yellow note, and the backup proceeds. The server should give up after five minutes, mark the client as hung, and proceed with backing up the rest of the company. -todd-
