prl
After I installed 9.0.1 I had to go back and re-enable the optical drive access (DisableOpticalDrivers=0) for Retrospect in /Library/Application Support/Retrospect/RetrospectEngine.bundle/retro.ini. retro.ini apparently got over-written by the upgrade. I think you need to restart the Retrospect Engine (and Retrospect Console, too if it's running) after making the change.
bradp015
wow, thank you for that! was this info in the upgrade instructions,(in which case would be my error for not reading it) or did they not think of including this in the upgrade instructions? i had forgotten that i had to do this when first installing retro 9 i would concider this a fairly important upgrade point, esp. if you're offering that will support optical devices.. ;-) b

I just happened to think about it as a possible cause when I upgraded and Retro 9.0.1 couldn't "see" my optical drives. I suspect that it wasn't, because the instructions for enabling optical drives are in a Knowledgebase article, and aren't in the Users Guide or ReadMe at all.
