Can't back up because of Error -43

I'm running Retrospect v6.0.178 on a Dual G5 Xserve v10.3.4 and using Backup Server to backup a couple of G4 PowerBooks running 10.3.5 and Retrospect Client v6.0.108.


All clients are being backed up except for one that stops it's backup session after the 'scanning' portion of of the procedure. The error listed in the log is:


10/6/2004 12:09:11 PM: Copying IBT_PB_CR on IBC_PB_CR…

10/6/2004 12:09:11 PM: Connected to IBC_PB_CR

Scanning incomplete, error -43 (file/folder not found)


I tried turning on System Logging and all it added to the above was:


FscGetFSRef: FSMakeFSSpec failed for file , error -43


Which it actually added a few times to the log even after the above procedure was stopped, so I'm not sure if it pertains to the same problem.


I've reinstalled the Retrospect Client, I've repaired the disk and I've verified the permissions, all with no indication that there may be a problem with Retrospect but with the problem still existing.


Could someone shine some much needed light on what might be causing this problem?

It looks like you asked this question a while back. Me - I just got here.


Here's a couple ideas we were considering in our own situation:

-adding RAM to the client

-completely rebuilding the hard drive - clone, erase, low-level re-format
