Philips DVD+RW DVD8601 not shown on Destination Selection

Trouble trying to set up retrospect on Dell 8400 with Philips DVD+RW as backup destination. The DVD drive shows up on the Configure Devices window and the Configure CD/DVD Drive seems to work OK. Nevertheless, the drive still does not show up as a backup destination.

Philips was the creator of CD/DVD technology and Dell the largest computer manufacturer - tell me this Philips drive used by Dell is supported by Retrospect!

Hi

To clarify:

-You start a backup

-you create a new CD/DVD backup set

-You run the backup

Can you give some more details on what happens after that please?

Thanks

Nate, Thanks for your reply. Actually I was trying to do a Duplicate action to the DVD+RW. After posting I was able to contact Retrospect tech support who advised me that the Duplicate function can only be performed to a hard drive. However, they also told me that at this time Retrospect does not support the Phillips DVD8601 drive.
