fawad khan
Hello, I am trying to run the Retrospect Client (6.5.108) on Solaris 9 but seem to be getting an error. I have run the install file and said yes to install the client. RETROSPECT_HOME points to /usr/local/dantz/client During installation a message appears saying /usr/local/dantz/client/retroclient: synatz error at line 1: '(' unexpected When I run the Java applet and turn it on an error message appears saying: There was an error while applying the changes: String index out of range: -5 Any clues? natew
Hi What hardware platform are you running on? I've seen similar errors when trying to run the client on i386 hardware. The client is only supported on sparc. Thanks Nate
fawad khan
I am running it on i386 hardware. I think the binaries were compiled to run on a SPARC system not a i386 SPARC emulation. Gonna get a proper SPARC machine from SUN. That should sort it out. Cheers
