After backing up I need to reboot my Drive.....

Recommended Posts

Hey all...

Am using Multi-Server 6.5 with a Overland Powerloader SDLT220 unit...

All was fine for about 2 weeks (Has just been installed....) and now after the backup job the tape dont eject from the drive back into the mag and if i go into the devices option then i cannot see the slots - if i issue an eject command then the drive does nothing....

would you agree that this is more of a hardware issue then it is software ??

power down and up again on the drive makes it all behave untill it does a backup again.... backups are working ok it would seem but you just need to keep having to power down and up the drive.....

confused......

OS is Windows 2000 fully patched....

Scsi card is an adaptec using the Windows 2000 drivers....

Windows drivers are disabled for the drive....

Will try to update the scsi card drivers - do you think this may be the issue or could it be a fault with the unit - we have overland support so they can come out.....

Hi

It might be worth having them come for a look. Retrospect doesn't usually break all by itself. If there is a problem with a Retrospect driver it tends to fail from the get go not two weeks later. In any case make sure you have the latest driver update and Retrospect version installed.
