AmyJ
Quote: I have down loaded rdu49.exe and placed it in the Retrospect folder. It has an icon right next Dantz and the Backup Set A folder. According to your log file the 4.9 Driver Update is not installed. To install the Driver Update, drag "RDU.rpx" into your Retrospect folder (the same folder in which the Retrospect application resides). The next time you open the application, the Driver Update loads automatically. You can verify it loaded by examining the operations log. Quote: I also have the 30 day wonder, winima61.exe, how do I use it? Never heard of it, no idea. Check the site for the vendor who makes the program. coz
I've notice other people have the same problem as I do. What it is that we all have Sony's DRU-510A DVD/CD Rewritable Drive and the Backup Set A, seems to want to make a 4.5 GB mirror image drive of our Hard Drive. I kind of figured on problems so I'm off line and telephoned in. This is an important backup for me as I want to scrap my Dell Dimension V700 and move everything to my IBM E5U so that I can have a sound card. I'm not adverse to using my Veritas again but your manual says to compress to the hard drive. I don't have enough room for a mirror image but if you tell me how to compress the backup to a reasonable 1GB 8% and do all those wonderful things the User's Guide talks about for copying files I'm all for that. Winimg is a third party tool I was directed to by your online help tools. They are a two page wonder that tell me nothing. I'd get Power Quest's disk image if you think that would help. Gee, everything is so much simpler in Panther with Carbon Copy. Listen I'm a procrastinator and I do everything right the first time; however long it takes. I purposely got off line from cable so that I could go slow and do things right. One of you 5 directors Amy Melissa Backup... or someone should tell me straight. Do I have to redownload the whole 2 MB disk again or what? Please at least direct me to a qualified techi as I'm going to have loads upgrade questions and am reading Muellers 15th to death. You are just one piece of the puzzle. Yes I'll need the hard drive backup for networking with my Mac eventually but not now. I've just got over spam problems and am very weary of my Cable connection. Bear with me and help me as I'm forgoing studying for my C++ Programming Exam tomorrow to get this problem taken care of.
