The sensitive Medical Office Management package runs on this collection just fine, so upgrading to System X is not likely. The good doctor is underwhelmed at the idea of new hardware; I am getting stretched to support this client. Retrospect will get about 1/2-way thru backup, then stalls with gears grinding, but no error message. Has worked in the past (last week) without changes to any of the above. Tapes are fairly new (<6 months old); backup has worked to those tapes. Using overwrite, so it's not an issue of the tape being full. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
