kland Posted November 17, 2003 Report Share Posted November 17, 2003 Since installing Express bundled with my new Maxtor drive, XP has a problem booting up. It always gets to the Windows startup window then does and automatic reboot, then presents the bootup problem screen asking if I want a normal startup. A normal startup will work from this point, but then shutdown takes several minutes. Any history/suggestions with this problem? Suspect incompatibility with another application? AmyJ Posted November 18, 2003 Report Share Posted November 18, 2003 Retrospect does not load anything on startup that would cause the type of boot problems that you are describing. I suspect that the drivers installed by Maxtor may be an issue. For testing purposes, try unhooking the drive from the computer and booting. This may help isolate the problem.
