Retrospect causes Root Creation date error

Recommended Posts

I have five external firewire drives which are exact duplicates of five other data-only drives. Retrospect desktop runs the scripts every night.

I have discovered that Diskwarrior reports "root creation date errors" on the duplicate drives after running Retrospect. I have verified that it is caused by Retrospect by doing the sequence repair-Retrospect-repair.

The program I used previously does not cause this.

is this a cause for concern?

Is it a Diskwarrior or a Retrospect problem?

Thanks for any help.

Found a way round this, which is maybe how Retrospect should be used anyway.

Previously, I set Retrospect to duplicate the whole volume. So it copied all the invisible stuff including icons, root creation dates etc from the source to the destination.

Now, I put all the data folders and files inside the Desktop folder and duplicate the Desktop folder. No problems.

Should I have been doing this all along?

Thanks

Mike
