Client shutdown in OS X

Recommended Posts

When we leave for the day we set our OS 9 computers to wait for backup. Later in the evening the Retrospect server does an un-attended backup of the network, shutting down all the clients and itself when done.

We’d like this same capability in OS X. We understand that Retrospect 5.1 provides server shutdown, but won’t shut down OS X clients.

Is there a way (procedure, AppleScript or Retrospect patch) to put an OS X client to sleep after an un-attended backup, other than setting the energy saver to 3 hours and hope the backup starts before then?

Any help would be appreciated.
