tangledwebster
I can't seem to get retrospect to duplicate to a subvolume folder onto the desktop of the same hardrive. In other words, Source is laptop hard drive, Destination is a folder on the desktop of the same laptop's hardrive. It seems to work fine when the destination is some where external to the laptop. Is this doable? thanx, tangledwebster
natew
Hi This should not be a problem. Can you duplicate to other folders on your drive? Nate
CallMeDave
Quote: Source is laptop hard drive, Destination is a folder on the desktop of the same laptop's hardrive. Your Destination can't be a location that is contained within the Source. The resulting error you're probably getting "Source and destination overlap" makes sense in this situation. Duplicating an OS X Volume to anythine other then a root level Destination will not give you a bootable volume anyway. If you want to Duplicate an entire volume, your going to have to put it someplace other then that same volume. Dave
