wellera
HI-I am using Retrospect 6.5.276 Single Server on a Windows 2000 Server. I have two backup sets for local folders, and I cannot access either, because I mistyped the password when I set them up. Is there any way to get around this without re-installing the software. I don't think reinstalling the software is possible or feasible, since this is server that I run the backups off of. Any suggestions or useful knowledge? Thanks, wellera
Mayoff
Backup Set Passwords do not have a back door. If you don't know the password, then there is nothing you or Dantz can do. Data recovery services would not even be able to help (if you used encryption). If it is password only, then maybe a data recovery service would have a small chance of getting the data back. Hmm, that seems to imply that's Retrospect's native format is as good as encryption.
