gakenny
Hello, I have multiple users on my Windows 2000 machine running Retrospect 6.5.319. I have one Administrator user and the remaining accounts are Power Users. I am using NTFS disk format. Because I would like the backup script to run no matter who is logged in, I have tried to configure the application to run as user Administrator (or another member of the Administrators group) through the menu Configure->Preferences->Execution->Security. When I enter a valid user/password combination in the relevant fields, I receive the error; 'Can't grant necessary user privileges.' and the settings are not saved. Can someone suggest how I might achieve a solution? Kind regards, Gary Kenny
awnews
With RP6p5, try: User: yourUserID Password: yourPC Log On To: The name of your local PC Also, make sure you have the Retrospect Launcher Service set to LocalSystem and not a user/password (Admin or otherwise). That trick no longer works properly with RP6p5 and can cause tasks not to run.
gakenny
Hello GoAWest, Thank you! I was stumbling on the Log On To: option. Obviously, I should have keyed the computer name but I didn't. Kind regards, Gary
awnews
Glad to hear that cleared things up and worked out. BTW, if anybody else looks at this, that "Password = " line was supposed to read "yourPW" (your PassWord), not "yourPC." GoAWest
