keriah
Today, I installed Retrospect 5.6.132 on my Windows2000 PC. This was the first execution of its "Backup" function. The backup media is an external CDRW. I have confirmed the burner's compatibility and updated the firmware, as indicated on the Dantz site. (This burner did previously work with Retrospect on this PC, when the PC was running WindowsME.) Immediately after I indicated "proceed" for the first CD-RW disk, I got this error: Assertion failure at "module.cpp-457" The Dantz website indicates the following for this error: - - - - - - - module.cpp-457, This error in Retrospect 5.5 is caused by using keyboard shortcuts for Add (alt-A) or Modify (alt-M) during Disaster Recovery. Use your mouse to click the necessary buttons. The problem is fixed in the latest version. - - - - - - - However, I was using NO keyboard shortcuts. Nor was I doing anything with "Disaster Recovery" ... this was just a full backup of my "C" drive. Please do NOT send me the Tech Note. I have read it. It provides no help. Thanks in advance for you assistance. regards, - Keri
natew
Hi Try installing ASPI using the ASPIINST.exe installer in the Retrospect folder. Are you using a blank CDRW? Do you have any other burning software installed? Thanks Nate
