gaurban Posted August 15, 2003 Report Share Posted August 15, 2003 Hi all - I'm hoping maybe you can help, I have spent somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 hours trying to debug a problem with Retrospect and the fact the one machine gets a catalog out of sync error every other backup (weird). So I'm trying to find out if anybody out there knows what would interfer with the catalog or access to the catalog - I am currently shutting down each and every item I have running and then testing the backup. Time consuming - I was hoping maybe somebody out there has experienced this before or has a good idea what just might interfer. Please note I did not have this problem with version 6 it only started with version 6.5 and I have added no other software since the upgrade (I have even removed some thinking that they might be the problem...). I Appreciate any advice, suggestions or thoughts as tech support really hasn't been very helpful in determining the problem.... thanks! gaurban Posted August 16, 2003 Author Report Share Posted August 16, 2003 Followup - After more testing - I found it interesting that my problem completely disappeared when I *disabled* open file backup - does anybody have any thoughts on what could be going on with the open file backup that would cause it to step on itself?
