Jeff Wilson
I have no problems backing up to CDs, but every attempt to back up to DVD fails. About one-half or two-thirds of the way into the disk, Retrospect starts reporting errors. Once it was error 203. Another time it was a chronic "Catalog out of sync with backup set” no matter how often I re-synced them. Most recently it was error 206. I called Apple, which had me do some tests, which performed flawlessly. So Apple says it's not their problem, which isn't to say they're right. That's just where it stands with Apple. Particulars: G4 (1ghz, dual processors) OS 10.2.6 Retrospect 5.0.238 Pioneer ATAPI DVR-104 I sincerely appreciate any help provided.
natew
Hi Make sure you have the newest Retrospect driver update and see if that helps. You can also download the trial version of Retrospect 5.1 and try creating a custom driver for the drive. If that fails then it is safe to say there is indeed something wrong with the drive. If it works then you might want to consider using the upgrade. Thanks Nate
kastork
What kind of media are you using? Apple has some stuff on their support site about incompatible DVD media.... On that note, does anyone know if Retrospect 5.1 will use (and rewrite) DVD-RW media in the apple superdrive? Apple's site says only that Toast Titanium will do this...it is silent on other software.
