garnitchique
Hi, we are running Retrospect for Workgroups 5.0.something on OS X.2.5. This computer is our fileserver and has about 300 GB spanned over multiple SCSI Harddisks. We just got 4 80 GB Firewire drives since our DLT drive went out of order for no reason. Now I'd like to have a Backup of our fileserver onto these new Firewire disks, leaving out some not-so-important stuff to prevent running out of space too soon. Is there a way to span whether a File-Backup over multiple files or is Retrospect able to treat the Firewire HDD's like removables? Thanks in advance, Bernhard

It's a feature of the Windows product, but still not available for Mac. You could stripe the 4 drives to show as a single large volume, using OS X's built in RAID software (available from the Disk Utility application). garnitchique
Ok, that sounds good. I will try this out. As an interim solution I now backed up 2 Disks at a time on one Firewire HDD, with 3 different scripts. And its still copying... Thank you!
