Guest
Good day. Yesterday I installed the evaluation program Retro Pro Home/Small Office for Windows 6.5. When offered a choice I installed the Retrospect only. I used the Custom Install as I do not require Open File as I am only using it on one computer. I also installed the latest Device Driver Update 4.3. I used the Quick Start Guide to get my first backup going using my TDK indi440N multi format device. I used the TDK recommended media Verbatim DVD + RW. I set it to use software compression. Things seemed right on target until the 14 min mark when the system FROZE! I retried only to have the same thing occur. In both cases I let the machine run for 6 hours in the hopes that it would carry on but to no avail. I had all the programs End Tasked and have much more than the minimum requirements to run the program. I am running it on Win 98 SE. I do notice that even with all the programs shut off Retro seems to labor. I have to click buttons way too many times to get a response and the mouse moves like a snail. In fact anterior to running a backup (when I was reading info and familiarizing myself with the product) the system would freeze (each time no other program was running). This occurred 4 times each requiring a reboot. I have never had this problem with any of my other programs (including my previous backup). Could someone please tell me why this is occurring and how to rectify? Thank you hugely.
