bcbus2
If your product would allow setting a size limit for the backup files then multiple files would cover the 5 gig windows machine backup to the linux server. Does version 6.5 take care of this? I am trying to avoid backing up specific files and just do the whole disk. I could limit the C drive to 2 gigs but I was trying to keep it simple. natew
Hi Can you clarify this a bit? I'm not sure I follow. Do you want a size limit on the entire backup set or the individual backup files? Thanks Nate
bcbus2
Currently I am hitting a file size limit when I try an entire backup to a hard disk drive on my Linux server from a windows pc that is running express backup. So it would be nice if the express backup would do it in stages to a hard drive. I can see work arounds to the Samba file size limit of 2 gigs but it would be great if you could get the express backup to go to multiple files. AmyJ
Retrospect 6.0 introduced an improved Disk backup feature which allows backup to hard drive. The data is segmented into chunks of data small enough to avoid hitting the 2-gig limit. Our currently shipping product is Retrospect 6.5.
