kaikow
Retrospect, Nero and InCD do not play well together. Analogous comments might apply to DirectCD, etc. I've noticed the following: 1. If I create a backup set on CD-RW, then if I try to format the media with InCD, InCD has difficulty determining what to do with the media. Often, My Computer and InCD just lock up, requiring a hard reboot. Best to first erase the media with Nero, or Retrospect, before asking InCD to format the media. 2. If I insert a formatted or erased CD-RW in the CD-RW drive, InCD grabs control of the drive, so if I then start Retrospect, Retrospect cannot access the media. Sometimes, perhaps always, again there is a lock up. Solution is to start Retrospect BEFORE placing the media in the drive. 3. If I insert a formatted or erased CD-RW in the CD-RW drive, InCD grabs control of the drive, so if I then start Nero, Nero issues a message aking me to eject the media, then re-insert to get rid of InCDs hold on the drive. Solution is to start Nero BEFORE placing the media in the drive. Such problems might be ameliorated if Retrospect would use standard volume and file structures, preferable is ISO/IEC 13346, just as it uses, say, NTFS when a disk back set is written to, say, a USB external hard drive formatted as NTFS.
