Hi!

I bought an extern Maxtor harddrive a while ago and got Retrospect along with it. I was going to take daily backups with your program but I'm having problems. I've created a script that should run every night that should backup a couple of catalogs. When the backup starts it's working allright at first but after 2 GB of 4GB that it should backup it stops and complaining that the drive is full. This is the error message in the log:

Trouble writing: "Backup Set A" (4294904320), error -1115 (disk full)

2003-08-05 18:15:41: Execution incomplete

Remaining: 1211 files, 1,9 GB

Completed: 5424 files, 4,0 GB, with 0% compression

Performance: 494,9 MB/minute

Duration: 00:08:19 (00:00:10 idle/loading/preparing)

I've copied > 1,9GB myself to the drive to see if there is something wrong with the drive but it work allright. Do you have any idea what this error come from?

Hi

Your disk is formatted with the FAT32 file system. It has a single file size limit of 4 gigabytes. Your backup is being stored in one single file that is larger than 4 GB. Your only way around this is to Reformat the drive as NTFS or upgrade to Retrospect 6.5
