grapheon
We're running OS 10.2.6 on a G4. When attempting to retrieve files, we get stuck at a certain point and have to force quit and then restart. We can launch Retrospect, search and locate files in a backup directory, select files to backup, and tell it to retrieve. It asks for the appropriate tape and locates the file. Once it starts to retreive the file, however, the tape stops moving and retrospect hangs (endless cursor spinning, no tape movement or retrieval). Cancelling the operation also results in an endlessly spinning cursor. The only way to get out of it is force quit and restart. Any guesses? CallMeDave
Quote: Any guesses? You mean such as the make and model of your tape drive, or the type of bus its on? No. None at all. Dave
grapheon
Sarcasm is not helpful, nor is it endearing. It's a Quantum DLT 4000 connected through the SCSI port. We had to install Grappler to get OS X to recognize the tape drive through the SCSI port; that seems to be working fine, because, as I said, the computer sees the tape drive. It only fails once the file(s) to be retrieved are located.
AmyJ
What is the model and firmware version of the Grappler card? See the following link for Dantz requirements with Grappler cards: NO one will ever have access to my computer until Im married.
