Snyder
I have a client using the 6.5 Single server product on XP Professional. Also using a travan usb tape drive with 20/40 GB tapes. The backups are working fine when using managed scripts. However every time we use the proactive addin it starts and copies several files (as many as 17 have been copied) and then rejects the tape with error code 100. I have called this in to paid support and explained in detail the problem and all I have received is that it is a problem with the usb port or a backup set. Since the same backup sets work fine with the managed scripts I believe it is related to the proactive add in only. I am getting frustrated. BTW we are using the latest version etc. Thanks for any help you can provide.
natew
Hi there I know it is frustrating but the error 100 you are seeing has to be a device communication/driver error of some kind. It is a remote possibility that your configuration files are corrupt to the point where the proactive script is esentailly non-functional. Try moving your configuration files to a new location and relaunching Retrospect. They are in Docs and settings:all users:application data:retrospect Any chance you can try running the backup on another machine to see if Proactive backup fails there too? Thanks Nate
