John Barfuss
I'm running 5.0.238 to back up six networked machines throughout our office to a 80gig FireWire drive. Set up to run each night at 7pm, then turn off remote machine. Since I switched to OS X, Retrospect launches itself every two minutes or so, brings itself to the front and sits there. If I quit it, it launches itself again in about two minutes. It brings itself to the front of the desktop every two minutes if I leave it open. I have turned off look forward, and disabled any activity that may run in Classic. Server is backed up separately. I'm ready to pull my hair out! Help! AmyJ
Are you running Backup scripts or Backup Server scripts? Backup Server is designed to run continuously and will reluanch itself after you manually quit it. To prevent this, you would need to 'disable' Backup Server - however, as you can imagine, this would prevent scripts from running. If this is a dual boot system (OS 9 and OS X) make sure there are no active scripts in the OS 9 installation, and that Retrospect is not being launched in Classic mode.
