MAlexander
I started seeing exactly the same errors when I upgraded to 5.1 (-43 errors where the file name is a single blank). The odd thing is that Retrospect spits out these errors when it is just sitting there doing nothing. They come out irregularly, but several times a minute on the average. If I leave Retrospect running between backups it generates hundreds of these errors. I really don't know what changed to cause this, except perhaps upgrading to 5.1. I'm also running 10.2.6 on a 733 MHz Digital Audio G4.
CallMeDave
Quote: FscGetFSRef: FSMakeFSSpec failed for file , error -43 These are File System Logging entries. Turn file system logging off, unless Dantz Tech Support has asked you to enable it. File System Logging will show Retrospect's various attempts to resolve file names; errors here do not necessarly reflect an inability to successfully back up the file. srodday
Where do you turn off File System Logging? I am having a similar problem. -Suzanne
gold47
I get tons of these errors too, and I've never "turned on file logging". Is this something "on" by default?
CallMeDave
Quote: Where do you turn off File System Logging? File System Logging is part of Retrospect's "secret preferences." Hold the Option key while clicking on Preferences in the Special tab. Select "File System" and note the check box. Dave
