sqoil
Hello! I am using Retrospect 6.5 on a W2k Server on a cross platform network. I am attempting to weed out unnnecessary directories on my OSX clients using selectors - i cannot seem to specify a root level exclusion e.g. "/etc" but i can specify "etc". I've tried the full /etc and combining it with paths e.g. if unix path is / and foldername is etc... Can anyone help? Sq
Mayoff
Go to Configure>Volumes. Browse the disk. Get Properties on the folder or directory you want to exclude. Retrospect will display the exact path and format for the path in the properties window, which will allow for correct selector creation.
sqoil
Hmm, the volume was HFS+ and uses the hdname:foldername: convention within Retrospect. My error was in presuming i could use the Unix convention. Next up, reformatting the volume with UFS and installing a fresh OSX. I'll have to set up a tandem UFS selector filter. Thks, Sq
Mayoff
Retrospect does not support UFS volumes.
